Oklahoma has well over a hundred tribal gaming sites, and directories quote wildly different sizes for the same buildings. So we used one measure and one kind of source: the number of electronic games or slot machines each casino states on its own website, checked in October 2026. Floor area is shown where the venue gives it, but few do, and those that do measure different things. On machine count the answer is not close. WinStar World Casino and Resort at Thackerville lists more than 10,000 electronic games. That is more than River Spirit, Riverwind and Hard Rock Tulsa, the next three on the list after Choctaw Durant, have between them.
The ranking
| # | Casino | Town | Tribe | Machines (own site) | Floor area (own site) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | WinStar World Casino and Resort | Thackerville | Chickasaw Nation | 10,000+ | Nearly 400,000 sq ft of gaming floor |
| 2 | Choctaw Casino & Resort | Durant | Choctaw Nation | 7,400+ | Not stated |
| 3 | River Spirit Casino Resort | Tulsa | Muscogee Nation | 3,100+ | 200,000 sq ft casino floor |
| 4 | Riverwind Casino | Norman | Chickasaw Nation | 2,800+ | 287,000 sq ft of "attractions", not floor alone |
| 5 | Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa | Catoosa | Cherokee Nation | 2,300+ (another page says 2,600+) | Not stated |
| 6 | Choctaw Casino & Resort | Pocola | Choctaw Nation | 1,700+ | Not stated |
| 7 | Osage Casino Hotel Tulsa | Tulsa | Osage Nation | 1,600+ | Not stated |
| 8= | Choctaw Casino & Resort | Grant | Choctaw Nation | 1,200+ | Not stated |
| 8= | Grand Casino Hotel & Resort | Shawnee | Citizen Potawatomi Nation | 1,200+ | Not stated |
| 10 | Remington Park | Oklahoma City | Chickasaw-owned racino | 750 | Not stated |
Hard Rock Tulsa publishes two different figures on its own pages, so we have ranked it on the lower one. The order would not change either way.
Why WinStar is in a class of its own
WinStar calls itself the world's biggest casino, and its own numbers explain the claim: nearly 400,000 square feet of gaming floor split into nine plazas themed on world cities (Beijing, Cairo, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Rio, Rome and Vienna), more than 10,000 electronic games, 100 table games and a 55-table poker room. There is also bingo, an off-track betting parlor, a three-tower hotel with nearly 1,400 rooms and two championship golf courses.
The surprising part is how it started. According to WinStar's own history, the Chickasaw Nation opened a small bingo hall on the east side of I-35, just north of the Texas border, in 1991. Electronic games arrived in July 2003, when the building covered 190,000 square feet and took the WinStar name. A 2007 plan to double it to 380,000 square feet set the template for the city plazas you walk through today. For anyone searching "WinStar casino Oklahoma", the address is Thackerville, about as close to Texas as an Oklahoma casino gets, and the location is the whole point: it was built for traffic heading north out of Dallas–Fort Worth.
Second place is also huge
Choctaw Casino & Resort at Durant is the only other Oklahoma floor above 5,000 machines. Its 7,400-plus slots come with more than 100 tables and 1,700 hotel rooms. Roughly 3,300 of those machines arrived in one go with the Sky Tower expansion in August 2021, which is why Durant jumped so far clear of the Tulsa resorts. Our Choctaw Durant guide covers it in detail.
The Tulsa and Norman tier
Below the two border giants there is a big drop, then a cluster between 2,300 and 3,100 machines. River Spirit is the largest casino in the Tulsa metro by its own count, with a 200,000-square-foot floor beside the Arkansas River. Riverwind in Norman lists more than 2,800 electronic games but only 19 table games, a slot-heavy mix. Hard Rock Tulsa, which is in Catoosa rather than Tulsa itself, sits just behind. Our Tulsa guide and Oklahoma City guide compare these floors on more than size.
Where the measure breaks down
Machine counts are marketing figures, rounded and often stale. Floor-area claims are worse for comparison: Riverwind's 287,000 square feet covers "attractions", including its theatre, while WinStar's figure is gaming floor only. Many large properties, including Downstream at Quapaw and the Lucky Star group, did not give a count we could load on their own sites, so they are left out rather than guessed. And size is not quality: a 750-machine racino such as Remington Park offers live racing that no slot floor can.
