FireLake Casino is owned by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and sits on Hardesty Road in south Shawnee, on the Nation's tribal campus next to FireLake Golf Course and FireLake Arena. It rates 3.9 from around 3,300 Google reviewers.

The property is new. The Nation opened a rebuilt FireLake Casino on June 27, 2025, replacing the old FireLake Entertainment Center, which had grown out of a bingo hall first opened in the early 1980s. A new FireLake Hotel opened alongside it a week earlier. Many visitor reviews and photos describe the old building, so take older descriptions with a pinch of salt.

One more point of confusion: FireLake Casino is not the same as the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort on I-40, which was called FireLake Grand until 2012. Both belong to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, but they are separate properties a few miles apart.

What's on the floor

The new casino has more than 49,000 square feet of gaming space. The venue lists more than 480 reel, video reel and video poker games, and launch coverage put the count at around 450, so expect roughly that range. There is a high-limit slots room.

What the new building does not clearly offer: no live table games, poker room or bingo hall are listed on the venue's current pages or in coverage of the reopening. The old FireLake had bingo, tables and poker, and some directories still list them, but do not assume they carried over. If you want live tables or poker, the Nation's Grand Casino is the safer choice.

FireLake Hotel

The FireLake Hotel is a three-storey building with 126 rooms. Rooms come with Wi-Fi, smart TVs, workstations and mini fridges, and the hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast, 24-hour guest services and on-site laundry. It is a practical, mid-range hotel rather than a resort.

Dining and nearby amenities

The new casino has a full-service kitchen and a bar. The venue's dining page lists the current options, which are more limited than at a resort-scale property.

FireLake Golf Course and FireLake Arena are on the same campus, so the casino pairs easily with a round of golf or an event.

Tips before you go

You must be 18 to gamble. The Citizen Potawatomi Nation's gaming rules bar anyone under 18 from play. The venue's own site does not state the age, so bring photo ID. You must be 21 to drink.

Hours vary by day. Google lists 8am to 2am Sunday to Wednesday, 8am to midnight on Thursday, and 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. Some older directories show the casino as open 24/7, which reflects the previous building. Confirm before a late weekday visit.

Nearby alternatives

The Nation's larger Grand Casino Hotel & Resort is a short drive north on I-40, with live tables, a poker room and a bigger hotel. On Shawnee's western edge, Kickapoo Casino Shawnee is a small machines-only stop, and the Kickapoo Tribe's Kickapoo Casino Harrah is further towards Oklahoma City.
