Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola is run by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma right on the Arkansas state line, a few minutes from downtown Fort Smith. Most of its visitors cross over from Arkansas. It rates 4.1 from around 8,600 Google reviewers.
It is a sizeable floor with a modest hotel, and it is about to change. In June 2026 the Choctaw Nation announced a $140 million expansion that will add a new hotel tower, a spa and a resort-style pool, with groundbreaking expected in the autumn. Expect construction work on site through the coming period.
What's on the floor
The venue lists more than 1,700 machines, from penny slots to higher-stakes and progressive games.
Live table games include blackjack (with a progressive side bet), bonus craps, live craps, live roulette, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em and heads-up Hold 'Em. Tables run 10am to 2am Monday to Wednesday and continuously from Thursday morning to 2am Monday. A six-table mini pit opens on Friday and Saturday nights.
There is a small poker room with five tables, open from 10am Monday to Saturday and from noon on Sunday.
The property also has a racebook for horse racing, with more than 30 TVs, open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 9pm. There is no bingo hall.
Hotel and the expansion
The current hotel has 118 rooms, offering kings, doubles and suites. The announced expansion adds a seven-storey tower with 130 rooms and suites, which would roughly double capacity, and the existing rooms are due to be renovated. Until that work is finished, rooms can sell out on busy weekends, so book early.

Tips before you go
You must be 18 to gamble. The Choctaw Nation's gaming rules bar anyone under 18 from the gaming floor, and its casinos list 18 and over for play. A few third-party guides say 21 for Pocola, so bring ID and call ahead if you are 18 to 20. You must be 21 to drink.
Google lists the casino as open 24 hours, seven days a week, and the venue agrees. Tables, poker, the racebook and restaurants keep their own hours, as above.
With construction planned, parking and access may shift during the expansion. Check for updates before a busy weekend visit.
