WinStar World Casino and Resort is the Chickasaw Nation's flagship property in Thackerville, just off I-35 a few miles north of the Texas line. It is often described as one of the largest casinos in the world by floor space, and most of its visitors make the drive up from the Dallas–Fort Worth area. It rates 4.4 from around 68,300 Google reviewers.

The scale is the whole story here, in both directions. There is more to play than you can see in a weekend, but it also means long walks, busy weekends and a little planning if you have a particular game in mind.

What's on the floor

WinStar lists more than 10,000 electronic games spread across nine themed gaming plazas, with close to 400,000 square feet of gaming space strung along roughly a mile of floor. Table counts vary between the venue's own pages, from the low 80s to about 100, so think of it as around 100 live tables covering blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat, with a dedicated baccarat salon and high-limit areas.

One important caveat for 2026: WinStar's own site currently lists poker, bingo and off-track betting as temporarily closed until further notice. The 55-table poker room has long been one of the property's draws, so if poker or bingo is the reason for your trip, check the current status before you set off.

The floor is open around the clock, and with this many machines you will rarely wait for a seat outside the busiest Saturday nights.

Hotel, golf and the RV park

The venue describes nearly 1,700 rooms across four hotel towers at the main resort, plus The Inn at WinStar, a separate property with around 100 rooms connected by shuttle. Room counts differ slightly by source and date, which is normal for a resort that keeps adding towers.

Beyond the casino there is WinStar Golf, a spa, resort pools, shopping and conference space. The RV Park at WinStar suits drivers who would rather bring their own bed, and is a real option on busy event weekends when the towers fill up.

Dining and entertainment

Dining is spread across the plazas, from quick-service counters to sit-down restaurants and bars. Not every outlet is open every day, and the site currently lists the Red River Grill among its temporary closures, so check the dining page if you have a specific restaurant in mind.

Lucas Oil Live, the resort's 6,500-seat venue, hosts concerts and touring acts, and big shows noticeably change how busy the floor and parking get.

Tips before you go

You must be 18 to gamble at WinStar. Under-18s can visit restaurants and attend shows with an adult, but cannot go on the gaming floor. You must be 21 to buy alcohol.

Google lists WinStar as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the casino itself runs around the clock. Individual restaurants, bars and amenities keep their own hours.

Wear comfortable shoes. Moving from one end of the floor to the other is a genuine walk, and it is worth noting which plaza you parked near. Weekends and concert nights get crowded, and midweek visits are much calmer. The hotel towers are non-smoking.

Nearby alternatives

Two miles south, Border Casino is a smaller Chickasaw floor right by the state line. To the east, Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is the other large resort in this corner of the state, and Riverwind Casino in Norman is the closest big floor on the drive north towards Oklahoma City.
